AUTHOR BENEFITS

2. Rapid decision-making. Once you get your new book proposal in we will work on it immediately.
If it is absolutely brilliant then you will get a contract at short
notice. More usually, however, correspondence needs to take place and
sometimes the proposal needs to be revised. At no time do we allow large
gaps of time between correspondence so the process is at a good tempo
and focused on a yes/no decision. Proposals are reviewed by the responsible acquisition editor, the publisher, and quite often, a series editor. Whenever necessary
we engage external peer reviewers.
3. Author support. If a contract is offered and a schedule agreed
to we stay in touch with you as you develop the manuscript. We encourage
you to submit a couple of chapters early on so that we can check your
writing style and content. We have found that it is better to iron out
problems at this early stage rather than uncovering them at final review
stage.
4. Marketing. Global marketing is absolutely
crucial and WAP excels in this department. Our domestic industrial,
academic, and library lists are first-rate and guaranteed to swiftly
permeate into both the exact and general marketplace. All William Andrew titles are available through the large wholesalers (Amazon, B&N, Ingram, Baker & Taylor) as well as through a collection of smaller specialty resellers and bookstores. To respond more effectively to the globalized economy, William Andrew has appointed Elsevier to be its exclusive distributor in all countries outside of North America. We are excited with this development, and the positive impact it will have for our authors, as well as the exceptional distribution of their work in all countries, is a very tangible benefit.
5. Quality Production. William Andrew has a reputation for producing high quality books and we aim to maintain it. All final manuscripts are copy edited for language and undergo a technical edit. It is important to understand that we do not undertake substantive editing which involves rewriting. All books are typeset using our preferred vendors who have experience with our styles and quality controls. Printing is done either offset or digital and each book is shrinkwrapped to avoid damage during shipment or storage.
