William Andrew is proud to announce the rebirth of the Noyes Series in Animal Behavior, Ecology, Conservation and Management. This is a series of professional and reference books devoted to the better understanding of animal behavior, ecology, conservation, and management. The series was originally conceived by George Narita of Noyes Publications in the early 1980s, and quickly became the preferred resource of animal behaviorists, conservationists, and ecologists worldwide.
Our first effort in reviving the series is a complete revision of the seminal "Tigers of the World". Tigers of the World, 2nd Edition will be a comprehensive review of the current state of the science and management of tigers in the wild and captivity. Original editor Ronald Tilson has returned, and along with Phillip Nyhus, they have collected the world's foremost experts to explore tiger biology, ecology, conservation, management, and the science and technology that make this possible.
Next in line is The Forgotten Panda: The Biology of the Red Panda, edited by Angela Glatson, Curator of Mammals at the Rotterdam Zoo and International Studbook Keeper for the Red Panda. The book will be a broad overview of this unique species which is relatively unknown to scientist and lay person alike.
We are currently looking at several other proposals and we invite authors and editors who want to become involved in the revival of this important series of books to submit their proposals.
